About Wilson Roberts
Wilson Roberts is a native of
Chipley, Florida and currently resides in
the Oklahoma City area. He is a graduate of the University of
Florida and the New York Institute of Photography.
He began
photographing friends with a Kodak Brownie when he was in high
school. While in college, he graduated to a Yashica 35mm camera
with which he began photographing landscapes.
Over the years, his subjects have been as eclectic as his
personality. He enjoys shooting scenery, wildlife and flowers as
well as travel photography. As he says, “I like to photograph
anything that is beautiful, unique or evokes a sense of emotion.
I see photography as an art form and I want to present the
subject in an image that tugs at the viewer’s emotions.”
Like many other contemporary photographers, he shoots mostly
digital these days, although he keeps film cameras handy.
“Digital provides instant gratification,” Wilson says, “and it
is so flexible.” He shoots mostly with a Minolta 7D DSLR with a
28-300 zoom lens.
Wilson has traveled to several European
and African countries in recent years to get photographs but
says there are just as many opportunities in the states. He has
just completed an exhibit at the International
Photography Hall of Fame and Museum in Oklahoma City. |
